The Lithuanian Academy of Physical Education (LAPE) was founded in 1934 and is a unique higher education institution offering studies in the field of physical education and sports science in Lithuania. The Institution offers programmes in physical education, sport coaching, physiotherapy, tourism and sport management, etc. LAPE is a university-type higher education offering study programmes to more than 2500 students. The academic staff consists of 207 persons. LAPE has 3 faculties, 16 departments and 5 research laboratories. The Academy is focused on initiating and developing strong ties with higher education institutions with the aim of exchanging experiences and improving quality of education, training and research. LAPE has exchange activities with 48 European universities.
