Question & Answer:
- EHFA: "Why is it important to have a trade body for the European fitness industry and what do you feel are the priorities for EHFA over the next three years?"
- Birgit Schwarze: "The health and fitness industry represents the missing link in facing the biggest future challenge in Europe. I am talking about the chronic illness caused by today's lifestyle causing rising costs of the social network. Only a strong association is in a position to create the acceptance and the recognition it deserves from political and medical communities.
Priorities for EHFA:
- In order to create a strong European association it will be necessary to attract all national employers’ confederations that provide the fitness & health industry to join in EFHA. In countries where such associations do not yet exist, EHFA must initiate their foundation.
- In almost the same manner it is to ensure that a constant high standard of quality is assured in Europe same as Germany and Great Britain have already provided through their compiled “DIN Norm” and their “National Instructors Register”. The preconditions for successful action and the raising of effectiveness and credibility are: good cooperation, communication and utilization of all resources".
Birgit Schwarze was elected to the Board of EHFA for the term 2010-2012 at the General Assembly held in Essen on 23 April 2010.
