Question & Answer:
- EHFA: "Why is it important to have a trade body for the European fitness industry and what do you feel are the priorities for EHFA over the next three years?"
- Paul Kienstra: "If our industry does not regulate itself, it will be done for us. Only an international trade body like EHFA, can set quality- and qualification standards which will be supported by the European Fitnessindustry. This growing professionalism is needed to play a signifincant role in prevention of the massive health problems which occur. While doing so, EHFA must promote and position our professional industry at European level and make sure that the European Commission accepts our industry as an important partner to fight those health problems. Priorities for EHFA over the next three years:
- Support the growth of our industry
- International growth of quality- and qualification standards by support of Standards Council and implemantation of EREPS
- Expand and support number of National associations which are members of EHFA
- Lobby of the EU Institutions
- Further position the industry in terms of health and prevention
Paul Kienstra was re-elected to the Board of EHFA for the next term of two years (2010-2012) at the General Assembly held in Essen on 23 April 2010.
