EHFA 3rd European Fitness Forum, Madrid

EHFA held its third European Fitness Forum in Madrid on 10 and 11 May 2010. It was the third in a series that had met in Hilversum in the Netherlands in 2008 and in Prague in 2009.

The Madrid meeting was held over two days on the campus of the European University of Madrid, and it brought together operators, training providers, national associations and exercise professionals. Its subject was current trends in the sector and the business questions those trends raised for the people who had to act on them. The programme also included a visit and dinner at the Real Madrid stadium.

The forum was the broadest of the association's three regular gatherings, alongside the Executive Leadership Forum and the National Associations Forum, and it was the only one intended for the sector at large. Attendance was open to the sector rather than to members alone, and the forum was one of the ways the association introduced the register and the standards to professionals and training providers it had not otherwise reached. The series had been built to take the association's programme out to professionals in each region rather than leaving it in Brussels. A CD-rom of the proceedings and presentations was sent to the registered participants in June 2010. See the 3rd fitness forum and fitness forums.
