EHFA announced its London Summit for 22 and 23 November 2010. The event was listed in the association's events channel in the week before it opened.

The summit was convened around the release of the executive summary of Becoming the Hub, the EU-funded project in which the association had reviewed the evidence for the sector's role in public health. The association's own account records that the conference was addressed by Jacob Kornbeck of the Sport Unit at the European Commission's DG EAC and by Prof Dr Harold (Bill) Kohl III, president of the International Society of Physical Activity and Health, and that the delegates signed a public pledge. It records too that the delegates came from across Europe and further afield.

The summit was the last of the association's meetings that year, after the fitness forum in Madrid in May and the national associations forum in London earlier in November. It was the sector's most direct contact with European policy that year, and it came with a commitment attached rather than only a request. The project's final report and recommendations were to be submitted to the Commission in February 2011. See Becoming the Hub and the pledge by the fitness sector.
