Accreditation Documents

The accreditation pack was issued from this page. A training organisation downloaded the documents it needed before it began mapping its qualifications, and worked from the same set of documents through the submission, the accreditation visit and the annual monitoring that followed.

Accreditation process documents

  • EHFA Accreditation Process Document (EAD 01) - the document the organisation completed and returned with its programme overview or syllabus.
  • EHFA Accreditation Assessment and Quality Assurance Pack (EAD 02) - issued as a resource for optional use. A provider could work with its own assessment and quality assurance paperwork instead, provided it aligned to the standards and competencies.
  • EHFA Assessment Strategy (EAD 03) - the minimum assessment requirement, which had to be used, so that assessment remained consistent and comparable between different training organisations and different countries.
  • EHFA Terms and Conditions plus fees (EAD 04) - the terms of the accreditation agreement, with the price list and the economic zoning breakdown that set the fee for each country.
  • Summary of EHFA Accreditation Process Document (EAD 05).

Mapping documents

  • EHFA Fitness Room, Group Fitness and Aqua Fitness Mapping, EQF level 3 (MAP 02).
  • EHFA Personal Trainer Standards and Competencies for Mapping, EQF level 4 (MAP 03).
  • EHFA Sales and Marketing for Personal Training Standards and Competencies for Mapping, EQF level 4 (MAP 04).

The mapping documents carried the standards and competencies themselves, in the form a provider worked through qualification by qualification, setting out how programme delivery and assessment met each learning outcome. They were long by design: a shorter version would have dropped the underpinning knowledge and practical skill requirements the mapping depended on. Working through MAP 02 and MAP 03 was estimated at seven to forty hours, depending on how many qualifications were being mapped. The same review settled what had to be translated for submission - the programme overviews and syllabuses, theory papers, practical assessment documentation, case studies and other assessment material; manuals, handouts and presentations did not need translating.

The documents themselves were downloads rather than pages of the association's site, so they are listed here by code and title. Anyone reading the pack in order should start with the application, then the fifteen steps the documents support, then the questions and answers on how they were used in practice. Enquiries about the pack, or about the record of an individual accreditation, go to the contact page.
