Apply for Accreditation

Applying was the first of the fifteen steps. A training organisation used the application form on this page to register its interest in EHFA accreditation, and the association replied with the accreditation pack. The form registered interest; it was not itself the submission for accreditation, which came later and in much more detail.

What the form asked for

  • The training organisation's name, address, postcode or zip code, country and website.
  • The number of candidates the organisation estimated it would put through its programmes each year.
  • A description of the centre's experience of delivering exercise and fitness competence-based programmes.
  • The organisation's main contact for the application: contact name, job title, telephone and fax numbers, and email address.

Most of the form was administrative, and the association needed it to know who was applying and where they were. The one substantial question was the description of the centre's experience of delivering competence-based programmes in exercise and fitness, which was the first indication of whether an organisation was working at the level the standards assumed.

What happened next

Once the form was submitted, the organisation was sent the pack - the Accreditation Process Document, the mapping documents, the Assessment Strategy, the Assessment and Quality Assurance Resource and the Terms and Conditions with the price list - and worked through the mapping of its own qualifications against the standards. That mapping, not the application form, was the substance of the case for accreditation, and the fifteen steps take it from there. The documents page lists what was in the pack.

EHFA is no longer in operation, so no new applications can be made and the form no longer takes submissions. Enquiries about the association's records, or about an accreditation it granted, go to the contact page.
